Ontario Flight Centre, located at CYLS, is not the only flight school that trains in these practice areas. Flight schools and airplanes out of Rama, Collingwood and Midland use these areas.
Nolan King, former SAG member and instructor at Ontario Flight Centre, has given us some insight on how he uses these areas. He tends to stay on 122.7 near Bass Lake (Aera 2) to hear CYLS traffic. Near Rama he’s on 122.8 (Area 3) for traffic out of CNJ4 and near Orr Lake (Area 1) he’s on 122.85 for traffic out of Midland and Collingwood who share the same frequency.
